Detailed description of the Caring for the Destination Initiative: 


This tour is organized by Odyssey Tours in cooperation with Oikoperiigitis, a local environmental support center.
The tour is an ideal way for visitors to learn more about the fragility of the local eco-system and the negative impacts that human activities have had over the years.

To help support the surrounding community, the components of the tour are carefully selected. Starting with the hotel, Oikoperiigitis is the perfect example of a company supporting the local community as all objects and furniture is from Kerkini village and all meals are prepared from local products bought from the village. Furthermore, local products are promoted for sale to tourists and presentations about the area are available at the hotel.

Finally, with the organizer's instructions you can visit and have a closer look at everyday life of local people like fishermen, buffalo breeders, farmers and the local women's agro-cultural cooperation.
