Kerkini Lake Canoe Tour

The best way to know the lake and the eco-system is a canoe tour.
Your guide will help you familiarize with the canoe before you enter the water, and then, depending on the season we will take you to best spots in order to show you the lake's flora & fauna.


Itinerary

You will meet your local escort at Oikoperiigitis hotel in Kerkini, and he will take you to the lake. Depending on the season there are two different itineraries, so there are also two different starting / ending points.

Your escort will make a small demonstration ( on land ) regarding the canoes and use of the equipment and will provide all participants with life-jackets.

He will then assist you in getting into the canoe. As soon as all participant are ready, the canoe tour will start.

Typically, In high water season you will paddle through the semi-submerged forest, while in low water season you will visit the water-lilies area and the river banks.

On your return, your escort will take you back to Oikoperiigitis hotel.

Participant guidelines

You will need comfortable clothes and shoes ( walking shoes are a great option ) to enjoy the canoe tour.

There is no regular rule about how warm you have to be dressed, but you should take in accoun the seasson and time of the date, along with the fact that you will have to row.
