The carnival weekend it is very long tradition in Greece. Almost all over Greece, even in small village, people wearing carnival customs and they are celebrating the last weekend before the 40 days Easter fatsing. Carnival in Xanthi is second biggest carnival festivals in Greece which held every year for the last 46 years!

People of all over Greece and abroad of all ages, are coming in Xanthi in order to enjoy and to participate at the crazy festival. The participants are divided into groups and wearing customs and masks which have symbolic character. Visitors wearing their own customs and take the opportunity to dance, sing and drink wine in the streets of Xanthi among the parade.
