The monasteries of the region, during Holy Week offer the visitors peaceful moments with much praying. At the central square of the town of Edessa is taking place the ceremony of Resurrection with the presence of the town band. All the restaurants serve mageiritsa (soup with liver). It is also very beautiful to celebrate the Ressurection of Christ at the villages surrounding Edessa where tradition comes first.
